Layered Open Faced Southwest Sandwich Recipe

Everyone loves a great sandwich but sandwiches from the Southwest are on a completely different level. Make one today!

After you have this sandwich, you will find there is nothing better than a top slice of bread on a Southwest-style ham and turkey sandwich when it’s already topped with warm, melted cheese? If this sounds like a delicious sandwich that you want to try, we have here the ingredients for you to make it!
  • 6 slices of large oval sourdough/French bread
  • ½ lb. deli ham
  • ½ lb. deli turkey
  • 12 slices Havarti cheese
  • Spread listed below
  • Avocado slices
  • Tomato slices
  • Can chopped olives

Mix together:

  • ½ cup mayo
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ can chopped olives
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ cup green onion

Layer on a cookie sheet:

  1. Bread, mayo mix, ham, turkey, cheese, tomato, avocado slices. 
  2. Also, sprinkle remaining half can of black olives on top.
  3. Put it oven on broil (setting, HIGH) until cheese is melted.
  4. Serve warm.
  5. Enjoy!
