It’s the New Year! Give Your Home a Fresh Start with These Tips

By January 17, 2019August 6th, 2024No Comments

Breathe new life into your home this New Year.

The New Year is an exciting time for all of us. Although January can feel a bit lifeless and limp, there are certain things you can do to bring about fresh opportunities and a sense of revitalization. This can extend to where we live, too. Take a look at our top ways you can breathe new life into your home, whether you’re in Central Texas or beyond.

  • Get organized

As mentioned in our previous blog, January is Get Organized Month. It is a great opportunity to bring order to your home after the festivities, finding places for your gifts and streamlining your clutter. Perhaps, to you, getting organized is simply creating a ‘landing space’ for your keys, coats, and mail by the front door. For others, it may be storing children’s toys in bins decluttering the cupboards, or even tackling the entire house one room at a time.

  • Create a space that aligns with your New Year’s Resolutions

If you’ve made a New Year’s Resolutions, help yourself stick to it by creating a designated space in your home. You can create a nook for meditation, exercise, reading, or more. You can even fill this space with images that inspire and motivate you to stick to your goals or a place to write down milestones. If you have space for your new habit, you are more likely to be successful at sticking to it.

  • Deep clean

Although spring cleaning duties are still some weeks away, you can get a head start by giving your property a deep clean. A thorough clean and declutter can help to set the intention for the year ahead. Tackle one room at a time, starting with the ceiling and working downwards. Don’t forget to pull out appliances and furniture to clean the space behind them. A sparkling space makes a great start to the New Year!
